Kawaii-Kon 2010 [First Announcement]
So as you know, Kawaii-Kon is Hawaii's one and only anime and video game convention. As a tradition I've sort of instituted, the Otaku Club will go this convention. And if you've paid attention, we go for free. :3 This year, however, will be a little different from last year. Some new and improved bits, if you will.
-Volunteering If you are 16 or older, you will be able to volunteer at Kawaii-Kon. This means you will get a free 3-day pass but you will also have some obligations. Most of them are fairly leanient (EI standing in front of door and checking badges, sitting around AA and helping or answering questions, etc). You will have to work a majority of your con stay, but it's really fun, you make new friends, and the hours you work here count as community service hours. Think about it.
-Cosplay Group This year, just to be more united as a club and to have some bonding time and what not, our club is having a cosplay group to those who go to Kawaii-Kon! If you join our group, there will be a high possibility that you will have to pay for very little of the costume. The series we'll be cosplaying is: Axis Powers Hetalia. Click here to read it OR Click here to watch it. [Personally, watching it is a little easier to follow but you have read it for the full effect. :'>] Currently taken: Russia and Seychelles.
-Going for free?! Like last year, if you wish to come to Kawaii-Kon, you may come with us for free! But this year in order to come with use for free, you will need to join our cosplay group. The costumes aren't hard at all and they'll be very cheap or nearly free (depending on how things work out). It's a 3-day pass, so it's for all the days of the con. If you don't want to join the group, you can't come with us. Sorry. Cosplaying isn't that bad. ;-;
-Artist Alley (Dango Dewdrop) If you came last year, you know that there is a table in Artist Alley called Dango Dewdrop and that was started by a few members in the club, including me. Last year you were able to leave your bags and things with us, but this year is different. We've completely broken off from OU and now we're an independent table. Unless you're with Dango Dewdrop (and they know who they are), you cannot leave your stuff with us. I'm very sorry, but last year we barely had enough room for our feet to move around. So we can't hold your bags for you anymore. But if you want to come by, say hi, and buy something, we may throw in a little discount for you. ;P
More updates to come soon!

@EarthFaerie: D: D'awww. Well, you can't really volunteer because you're on the Dango Dewdrop team. ^^;;
@Modern Alchemist: Ummm, well it's a "make your own" type of deal. So it really depends on how much you bargin and find. Mine's estimated around 70-100 dollars. [I blame how expensive overcoats are. D;]

Anyone can volunteer, but if you come from our club it counts as a credit for our club for you. And you need to attend these things.
Re: Kawaii-Kon 2010 [First Announcement]
Oh hey, that's right, I'm going as America for the cosplay! This is the earliest I've ever decided on a cosplay ever. So America's taken now. hah
Why will not have to pay for the majority of the costume, anyways? Are you gonna pay for it??

Re: Kawaii-Kon 2010 [First Announcement]
I AM NOT GOING TO PAY FOR YOUR COSTUMES. D< -RAAAAGE-
Anyway, we'll see. Masaki talked about how we touched on cosplay last year, so this year they might help us.

Umm.. There's no real due date yet. But they have informational meetings and stuff you can go to.
I suggest you get it in ASAP though.

Okay, I found out that the next meeting will be in January some time. Then the one after that is in Febuary, then a final one in March.
